back in the spray booth, glueing troll hands this time. i love contact cement.

cat in box
the bag lady has started to put legs on her bags and make end tables out of them that you can store stuff in. Mitzi is curious about this new phenomenon and has to investigate. she must judge whether or not she fits in every bag brought into the house.

Check out my flanged pillow! i bought this fabric for a dress but the sizing didn't wash out and it's too stiff. so home decorating instead! it matches our dining room very well so i made chair pads for our dining room chairs. one day in the cats have already ripped one off its ties and spilled coffee on the other. but besides that they look good!

In the spray booth at work. I was working inside the troll head and i had to wear the gas mask, which i absolutely hate. it smells bad, like other peoples spit. and i cant stand having something over my face like that. i don't even like having my face buried in lisa. or wearing turtlenecks. I had to keep convincing myself to keep breathing and not panic, because hyperventilating would only make the problem worse, obviously!

I took a month off for the summer but i'm going to try and get back in the hang of 365. i am closer now than i was last time, so even though it will take me much longer than a year, i want to hit that magic number.
It's september now and my birthday is coming up! Nicole of my knitting group and i are loving the hunger games trilogy. I was angry and sarah in philly for recomending such an engaging series when the third one hadn't even been written yet! and nicole said she had it on special order for the day it comes out. I asked to borrow it after she gets it... but she's getting it for her kindle! Not a help. I had it on hold for the library, number 264. if everyone has it for 3 weeks, well, that means it'll be months before i read it. BUT! my co-worker Tram gave it to me for an early birthday gift! isn't that wonderful! thank you so much tram! I am so glad I got to read it! i'm going to have to buy the first two now so i'll have a set!

Grasshopper
isn't this a huge grasshopper for city life? i kept thinking it would hop away but it let me get really close. i would much prefer things like grasshoppers in the garden to those filthy filthy pigeons.
For grandma
so i'm obviously behind on posting pictures because this one was this summer. i had fresh corn and purple coleslaw on tomatoes and it was food they eat on the farm. the couscous chickpea curry, not so much.
Canning
LIsa made beautiful delicious spagetti sauce. and i bought big mason jars and was going to can it. then i realized my pot is not big enoug for us to completely submerge them. i called my grandma and she said, after all that work don't mess with it, just freeze it. so that's what we did. maybe next time...
masonry work
The wierd thing about the tuckpointing being done is people being RIGHT outside our windows. since we're on the third floor, people don't look in our windows very often. it is very unnerving.

what a goofy smile! my sweater is getting bigger and bigger! it's almost like a bolero now. the sleeves are past short sleeve length and getting close to 3/4s. i'm very excited about it. i am usually so close the pattern it's good for me to see photos of it from far away for the whole effect! I try it on too frequently now that the sleeves are on different needles!
"managing risk is an art in itself"
Lisa has a new position at work. She's in the risk department now and it sounds very exciting. i am so happy for her that she seems to be with a good company that values her and gives her fulfilling work to do.

lisa jr just fits
this is my other new sewing project. I bought this cute fabric to make a sundress out of, but after i tried to wash the sizing out of it it was still oh so stiff. so instead i made a wallet and these chair pads for our dining room. look at my piping. whee!

new quilt
I told lisa if she cleaned out her cupbords i'd make her a quilt from all her old tshirts. it's finally finished and it's wonderful- oh so soft, and not as thick as the duvet for the summer.

at the beach again! this time in chicago with lexie and lisa. sorry lisa you didn't make the picture!
gotham city
chicago was so creepy looking driving to the airport on the way to the beach. this was right before all the thunderstorms and flooding happened.

unpacking from the beach i found a tube of my mom's lipstick. I cried a little and made toffee colored kissy faces.
